Why I Started Hiding Bible Verses in My Kitchen Cabinet (And How It Changed Everything)

Have you ever had a moment where God spoke to you in a way so personal and unexpected that you knew it could only be Him?

That’s exactly what happened to me.

I had a vision of myself writing Bible scriptures on ripped scraps of paper and placing them inside my seasoning cabinet. Yes, the same cabinet I open every day to cook for my family. It wasn’t fancy. It wasn’t dramatic. But the message was clear
    “This is for protection.”

    ✨ Why the Kitchen Cabinet?

In that quiet moment, God reminded me that His Word isn’t just for church or early morning devotionals. His Word belongs in the center of my daily life, right there with the salt and spices where I nourish my children and pour out love every single day.

    It hit me deeply
Our homes are spiritual battlegrounds. Our kitchens are altars. And the meals we serve are a ministry. So why wouldn’t I place scripture where I cook, pray, cry, and gather with the people I love?

📖 Bible Verses to Spiritually Cover Your Home

As I started doing this, I realized how powerful it was to physically tuck God’s promises into the heart of my home. Here are a few verses I used (and ones you can start with too)

    • Psalm 91:1-2 – For divine protection
    • Deuteronomy 6:9 – A reminder to write His Word on the doorposts
    • Colossians 3:15 – Inviting peace into your home
    • Joshua 24:15 – Declaring that your house serves the Lord
    • Psalm 119:11 – Hiding His Word in your heart and your space

🌿 The Power of Small Acts of Faith

This small act of obedience became a powerful spiritual habit. It’s more than just writing scriptures, it’s a form of spiritual warfare, a way of protecting your peace, and an intentional decision to invite God into your daily routines.

If you’re a Christian woman, mother, or faith-filled homemaker, consider this a faith-based home habit that will shift the spiritual atmosphere of your household. No perfection needed. Just a paper, pen, and the presence of God.

💡 Try This Simple Faith Practice

    1. Grab a few scraps of paper
    2. Write one Bible verse per paper that speaks to peace, protection, or purpose
    3. Place them in areas you visit daily—kitchen cabinet, mirror, laundry room, even your purse
    4. Pray over your home as you place each one
    5. Watch what happens

Final Thoughts: When God Shows Up in the Ordinary

God isn’t asking for perfection; He’s asking for presence. And sometimes His greatest instructions come in the simplest ways. If He’s nudging you to hide scripture in your cabinets or speak His Word over your home, do it. There’s a breakthrough in those quiet moments.

  • You’re Not Lost, You’re Being Led: A Letter to the One Who’s Tired of Trying to Find Their Way

You’re Not Lost, You’re Being Led: A Letter to the One Who’s Tired of Trying to Find Their Way

There are moments in life when everything around you is loud yet inside, you feel completely empty. You’re showing up, doing what you can, but somewhere deep down, you know you’re just surviving. You’re searching for peace, for clarity, for something that makes it all make sense.

    I’ve been there.

One of the most defining moments of my life was when I left New Jersey with my two kids and moved to Virginia. On the outside, it looked like a fresh start, but in truth, I was running from a cycle I knew I had to break. I was living in an abusive environment, emotionally depleted, afraid, and stuck.

I remember crying at night, not just from exhaustion but from the kind of fear that tightens your chest. I would whisper through tears, “Please God, get me out of this. I don’t see a way out, but I don’t want my children growing up thinking this is love. Please, help me.”

It wasn’t an easy decision. I didn’t leave with a guaranteed plan. I left with prayer, shaky faith, and a whisper from God that said, “There is more than this.”

What I’ve learned since then is that feeling lost doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Sometimes, it’s exactly where God meets you. In the waiting. In the chaos. In the silent, sleepless moments where you think no one sees you, He does.

He saw me. And He sees you too.

When I moved to Virginia, I didn’t become a new woman overnight. But I started healing. I started breathing again. I started listening more for God’s voice than everyone else’s opinions. And in that space, He began to reveal something beautiful: that I wasn’t just being saved from something, I was being led into something.

    Led into purpose
    Led into peace
    Led into deeper trust
Led into becoming the version of me He always had in mind

If you’re reading this, maybe you’ve felt stuck too

Maybe you’ve prayed those same “please God” prayers through tears. Maybe you don’t know what’s next, but you do know something has to change.

Here’s what I want you to know

You’re not crazy. You’re not weak. You’re not too late
You’re being prepared. And the fact that you’re here reading these words is proof that God is already working on your behalf.

You may not have the full picture, but you have His presence
And sometimes, that’s more than enough

    A prayer for you

God, for the one reading this who feels overwhelmed or stuck, meet them where they are. Quiet the noise and speak peace into their heart. Remind them that you’re not just a God of destinations but of every single step. Give them the courage to walk in faith even when the path looks unclear. And wrap them in the truth that they are never ever alone. Amen

You’re not lost. You’re being led
And I’m so glad you found your way here
